Consumer Alert: Fraudulent Web Sales of Blue Buffalo Coupons
Blue Buffalo Consumer:
Over the past several months we have seen a steady increase in the number of people offering to sell purportedly legitimate Blue Buffalo coupons on the web. Most of these sales are taking place at sites like eBay, although there have been some direct email solicitations as well.
NONE OF THESE COUPONS ARE LEGITIMATE. THEY ARE ALL FRAUDULENT.
The only legitimate coupons available on the internet are the three and five dollar coupons on Blue Buffalo’s “True Blue Test”. These are only available one time per customer and are void if sold or transferred. Any coupons offered anywhere else on the internet are fraudulent.
We have attempted to enlist the cooperation of eBay and other web sites that host fraudulent coupon sales, but they have refused to take any action to stop the illegal activity that is taking place on their sites.
Blue Buffalo is hardly alone in this situation. There are many products and brands that are being victimized in the same way, but with the tremendous popularity of the Blue Buffalo products, we seem to be a favorite target for these criminals.
RETAILERS WILL NOT ACCEPT THESE FRAUDULENT COUPONS
Obviously we are concerned about the financial cost of paying to redeem fraudulent coupons. But we are equally, if not more so, concerned with the cost and embarrassment to Blue Buffalo consumers who fall victim to these frauds by purchasing coupons in good faith believing them to be legitimate, only to find out at the store checkout that the coupons will not be accepted.
Please share this information with your fellow Blue Buffalo consumers. They are wasting their money if they buy these coupons, and we’d hate to see that happen.
SELLING COUNTERFEIT COUPONS IS A CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
If you become aware of anyone who is selling Blue Buffalo coupons, whether or not they believe them to be legitimate, you might want to share this posting with them. It would be unfortunate if any faithful fan of Blue Buffalo products became unknowingly swept up in a criminal investigation. If they have any doubts as to the seriousness of selling these fraudulent coupons, you might want to make them aware of this recent story about the FBI arresting a college student for selling counterfeit coupons: FBI Arrests Coupon Counterfeiter College Student
YOU CAN HELP US PROTECT OTHER BLUE PET PARENTS
If you have purchased Blue Buffalo coupons on line, we would be interested in hearing from you with any information you have about the website or individuals offering them for sale. You may send an email with that information to Info@bluebuff.com. We will be looking to pursue criminal charges against any sellers of counterfeit Blue coupons.
Thank you for your continued faith in Blue Buffalo pet foods.
